This Green Smoothie for Heart Chakra (Anahata) incorporates all the greenest greens–even frozen zucchini , which are surprisingly nice in smoothies. They add a smooth texture and you don’t need to add ice cubes.
This particular smoothie is the color of the fourth chakra, which relates to an open heart, compassion, and vitality. If you are feeling disconnected, fatigued by your relationships, or apathetic in general, then this is the recipe for you. Even if you feel pretty balanced, this drink can give you an high vibrational energy boost. Combined with your favorite heart-opening yoga poses for a full revitalization of the fourth chakra.
- 1 handful grapes green (seedless)
- 1 handful fresh mint leaves
- 1/2 green apple
- 1/2 avocado
- 1/4 cup frozen zucchini
- 1/2 cup kale or spinach
- 1/2 teaspoon chlorella and/ or spirulina
- 1/2 tsp matcha (optional)
- 1 tablespoon agave or sweetener of choice (optional)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 teaspoon chopped pistachios for garnish (optional)
My favorite ingredient in this recipe is the local spirulina @bali_spirulina_farm i visit the farme last month and i was really amazed by watching/learning the process of growing Spirulina. A must go when on the island.
“Spirulina is often deemed the most nutritionally complete of all food supplements, containing a rich supply of many important nutrients, including protein, complex carbohydrates, iron, and vitamins A, K, and B complex. It also has a high supply of carotenoids such as beta carotene and yellow xanthophylls which have antioxidant properties. It is also rich in chlorophyll, fatty and nucleic acids, and lipids. Thus, spirulina has countless uses as a supplement for maintaining good health and for preventing diseases.
Spirulina is the richest beta carotene food, with a full spectrum of ten mixed carotenoids. About half are orange carotenes: alpha, beta and gamma and half are yellow xanthophylls.Synthetic beta carotene has not always shown these benefits. Research in Israel showed natural beta carotene from algae was far more effective. Natural is better assimilated and contains the key 9-cis isomer, lacking in synthetic. As suspected, natural carotenoids in algae and vegetables have the most antioxidant and anti-cancer power.”
